WORKFORCE GAS COMPLIANCE TRAINING

Technical training developed for gas operations teams to support compliance and workforce safety.

My Role & Contributions

I worked with program managers and subject matter experts to translate technical operational procedures into structured digital learning modules.


Key responsibilities included:


  • Collaborating with SMEs to gather and validate technical procedures
  • Structuring learning objectives and module flow
  • Designing interactive training modules
  • Translating complex technical processes into clear learning content
  • Supporting review cycles and incorporating stakeholder feedback
  • Preparing learning modules for LMS delivery

Gas operations teams rely on precise procedures and compliance standards to ensure safety and operational reliability. Training content needed to communicate complex technical information clearly while remaining accessible for a distributed workforce.


Key challenges included:


  • Translating highly technical procedures into structured learning
  • Maintaining accuracy while simplifying complex information
  • Supporting field teams with clear and efficient training modules

Design Approach

To support technical workforce learning, the modules were structured to prioritize clarity, procedural understanding, and knowledge reinforcement.


The design approach included:


  • Breaking technical procedures into step-by-step learning sequences
  • Incorporating visual references to support comprehension
  • Structuring modules to reinforce key safety and compliance concepts
  • Collaborating closely with SMEs to ensure technical accuracy

Solution & Development

Interactive training modules were developed to support workforce learning and compliance training initiatives.


The learning solution included:


  • Structured procedural learning modules
  • Visual references supporting operational processes
  • Interactive knowledge checks reinforcing key concepts
  • Modular course design allowing flexible learning pathways


Modules were developed in Articulate Storyline and designed to integrate with the organization’s LMS environment.

GOCC Training Framework

To support Gas Operations Compliance Coordinators (GOCCs), I designed a structured training framework that prepares employees to navigate regulatory requirements, operational procedures, and incident response protocols within gas operations.


The program uses scenario-based learning to help coordinators interpret operational events, apply compliance rules, and document incidents accurately.

ZEVAC Compliance Training

ZEVAC (Zero Emissions Vehicle and Appliance Compliance) training was developed to help gas operations staff understand evolving regulatory requirements and operational responsibilities related to electrification and emissions compliance.


The training translated complex regulatory guidance into structured learning modules that explained policy changes, operational impacts, and reporting requirements for field teams and operational coordinators.


The module included scenario-based examples, regulatory references, and practical workflows to help learners interpret compliance expectations in real operational contexts.

Outcome

The resulting training modules supported SDG&E’s workforce development and compliance initiatives by providing structured, accessible learning experiences for operational teams.
